Another indication that I probably don't like new...
Thanks to my boys over at last.fm, I’ve determined that I’ve listened to 262 different tracks 10 or more times in 2008. Only 39 of these tracks came out in 2008. 15% is poor. If there was a plethora of new music that I was interested in, I would expect to see that at number at least 40%.

Obligatory Chart #2: Top 25 Tracks of 2008
jayson:
The way I did this was essentially sort my playlist down to my 50 most played songs (to give me some room for subjectivity; just because I played it a lot doesn’t necessarily mean I thought it was the best of the year, and vice versa). From there I whittled it down manually to my top 25. So… here we go!
1) MGMT - “Electric Feel” (Justice Remix)
2) Cut Copy - “Out There On the Ice”

And ESPN reports this by saying that he’s a Spanish professor.
Which, of course, he is, but it sounds a hell of a lot different than saying that they selected the dean.

I’m pretty impressed that they did it the next day. I thought that that kind of treatment was reserved for Rod Marinelli and Romeo Crenell, the two most recent purveyors of pure, unmitigated suck, but it was indeed recognized by upper management that the alleged Man-genius was just as bad.

Ben split Kings. And hit tens on both of them. And then the dealer busted.

brilliantlydifferent:
1. Music will always continue, but the parasitical 20th Century music industry is dead.
2. Music does not rely on technology or distribution. It simply requires people. It did not begin with vinyl, the CD, the electric guitar or the synthesizer.
3. If piracy is able to damage your ivory castles, you should seek to understand it and learn from it. Piracy...

An additional note on the Houses of the Holy...
Earlier this morning, I introduced the concept of the Houses of the Holly Illusion, which specifically refers to a song that lacks a true chorus but the atypical structure is not readily apparent to the listener. This is an important concept to me largely because of the way Gatsbys American Dream was treated by labels at the various points in their career when they were shopping around - they were...

Robert Plant has said that the chances of a full Led Zeppelin tour are still slim, despite the fact he still remains in regular contact with Jimmy Page.
