you, dave, and everyone he knows RSS

i am dave (E-M or L.F or FB). i am known to rock out on occasion, have a vast depth of knowledge about hockey, and am the proud bearer (barely) of a degree in political science. if you enjoy led zeppelin, craig finn, post-modernism, whiskey and good beer, have a nerd-like obsession with logical thought and laugh at things no one else really finds funny, we are probably compatible people and you will probably enjoy the blog.

Obligatory Chart #2: Top 25 Tracks of 2008

jayson:

The way I did this was essentially sort my playlist down to my 50 most played songs (to give me some room for subjectivity; just because I played it a lot doesn’t necessarily mean I thought it was the best of the year, and vice versa).  From there I whittled it down manually to my top 25.  So… here we go!

1) MGMT - “Electric Feel” (Justice Remix)

2) Cut Copy - “Out There On the Ice”

3) IAMX - “Spit it Out” (Designer Drugs Remix)

4) Dizzee Rascal ft. Calvin Harris and Chrome - “Dance Wiv Me”

5) Hercules and Love Affair - “Hercules Theme”

6) Late of the Pier - “Focker”

7) Bloc Party - “Signs”

8) The Kooks - “Always Where I Need To Be”

9) Q-Tip - “Gettin’ Up”

10) Protest the Hero - “Bone Marrow”

11) Santogold - “You’ll Find a Way”

12) Fleet Foxes - “White Winter Hymnal”

13) Does It Offend You, Yeah? - “Being Bad Feels Pretty Good”

14) Crystal Castles (vs HEALTH) - “Crimewave”

15) Vampire Weekend - “A-Punk”

16) Friendly Fires - “Lovesick”

17) Kanye West ft. Kid Cudi - “Welcome to Heartbreak”

18) Little Boots - “Meddle” (Treasure Fingers Remix)

19) The Mountain Goats - “Autoclave”

20) Oasis - “The Shock of the Lightning”

21) Tokyo Police Club - “In a Cave”

22) Panic at the Disco - “When the Day Met the Night”

23) The Futureheads - “The Beginning of the Twist”

24) IKE - “The End of the Rope”

25) trash80 - “Icarus”

I sometimes find it shocking that the two of us can be in a band together. I like four of the albums containing songs noted here, and then only because Jay introduced me to Late of the Pier.
